Last Spring, global insurers gathered in London to celebrate and promote innovation at the 2017 Efma-Accenture Innovation in Insurance Awards ceremony. It was an energizing and rewarding event for everyone involved. In this new video, you can hear from award winners and insurance leaders here at Accenture on the latest challenges and opportunities around innovation in insurance.
I’m pleased to share this highlight video with you and do hope you’ll take time to watch some of the valuable insights on this key topic.
The leading innovations this year all leverage cutting-edge digital technologies allowing insurers to differentiate themselves with new approaches and offer new services. I was particularly impressed by the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), which incorporates increasingly sophisticated natural language processing in areas such as risk prevention, offerings, claims as well as sales reps’s training. We’re also seeing Intelligent Automation deployed to analyze real-time Internet of Things (IoT) data, and truly innovative ecosystem partnerships among both legacy insurers and new industry entrants.
Awards were presented in five categories:
- Global Innovator
- Best Disruptive Product or Service
- Connected Insurance & Ecosystems
- Customer Experience & Engagement
- Intelligent Automation
The video features insights from Moshe Tamir, Global Head of Digital Transformation for Generali. Generali was named this year’s Global Innovator Award winner, with five impressive innovations submitted.
We are pleased to share these insights from global insurance leaders such as Franck Le Vallois, Head of Distribution & Business Leader MidCorp for Allianz France. Allianz’s innovation, “AI Sales Smart Mentoring” won the Intelligent Automation prize. You’ll see leaders like Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire’s Tsukasa Makino, Manager, Corporate Planning Group & IT Planning Group and Yves Caseau, AXA’s Group Head of Digital.
My Accenture colleagues Piercarlo Gera, Senior Managing Director: Financial Services, Distribution & Marketing and Daniele Presutti, Senior Managing Director: Insurance, Europe, Africa, and Latin America also join me in briefly sharing some of our thinking into innovation in insurance.
On behalf of Efma and my colleagues at Accenture, we congratulate all the winners and look forward to another successful initiative in 2018.
