Last week, we talked about the launch of Accenture’s second Digital Insurance Solution Center (DISC) in Chicago and how it helps insurers focus and accelerate their innovation programs.

DISC allows demos of Accenture software solutions and third-party hardware, as well as hands-on experience with future disruptive technologies.  Insurers can prototype, test and launch digital applications and solutions—with access to a team of experts to share the latest thought leadership on the future of insurance.

The DISC concept gives insurers a low-cost, low-risk way to experiment with technologies ranging from telematics to mobile solutions to advanced analytics, before they are deployed in production environments.  Insurers can test–and learn–effectively as they explore emerging trends in the insurance marketplace.  All of this on a platform built using next-generation IT architecture, featuring cloud-based assets and Web services.

This is an exciting development for us and, we believe, for the insurance industry as well.
