Data from Accenture’s 2014 Digital Innovation Survey reveals that digital transformation features high on the agenda for the majority of insurers for the next five years, and they expect to realize significant benefits from it. Of those surveyed, 84 percent believe digitalization is changing customer expectations and 83 percent feel that digital technologies will transform how they interact with their customers.

While the pace of digital disruption is being set by the Digital Transformers—those whose digital strategies, investments and activities are truly innovative and game-changing—most insurers are focused on digitally enabling their traditional channels and processes, or are exploring new digitally-enabled capabilities, products or customer segments.
