We know that the world is becoming much more connected, and for insurers this means a massive explosion in the amount of data that is becoming available. Will this lead to big changes in the way risk is managed, assessed and underwritten, and in the way carriers engage with their customers? Or will it turn out to be mostly hype and hot air?
In this post I introduce the Internet of Things, and explore its likely disruptive impact.
